Hi, we’re Ellie and Han. We are passionate about the outdoors and animals for well-being and therapy. We love sharing the animals and the landscape with others. West Yorkshire alpacas and Ponies is a side business and was originally set up by Han’s mum on their family sheep farm in the Peak District.

Alpaca Experience Leader
My name is Billie and I have been working with West Yorkshire Alpacas since April 2024 alongside Hannah, Ellie, and the team. I have always been a bit alpaca-obsessed, from when I was a teenager. My first experience with them was a meet and greet somewhere in North Yorkshire for my 16th birthday which was a lot of fun. To this day, most Christmases and birthdays I get at least one alpaca related gift or card!
I also work as a dog walker, and before working with the alpacas I would walk past some days and say hi to them if they were about. Getting to work with the animals has been an absolute dream. I have learned so much about them and got to know their individual personalities. They are generally very relaxing to be around. Every session with them is different from the last.
I have a background in hospitality, so it's been quite the career shift, but definitely one for the better. In my spare time I love a good hike or music gig, spending time with friends and family, and getting out into nature!
